RANSA Regatta Wrap Up February 16th

A great sailing day on the water with 72 boats entered and 67 starters across 7 divisions, which was a recent record number of entries as the CYCA put up a valiant effort to wrest the Admirals Trophy (best club on handicap across all divisions) from RANSA. They came very close with winds in a number of divisions, but as they did not have any entrants in the “classic” division this year this made the task difficult. We look forward to the competition next year!

Once again a special thanks to the Sydney Heritage Fleet for the use of the classic “Boomerang” that hosted the VIP guests from many of the Sydney Sailing Clubs to view the race on water.

After the race back at the club there were festivities including a band and the presentation of prizes by Rear Admiral Jonathan Mead, who was presented with RANSA merchandise by Commodore Dave Giddings as he is now such a frequent visitor to RANSA.

The Regatta is of course a fund raiser for our supported charity the Sir David Martin Foundation and proceeds from racen entries and the raffle all went to this worthy cause.
