We kicked off the new sailing season in spectacular fashion at our annual Season Opening Cocktail Party, welcoming over 100 members and their guests to the club. There was absolutely nothing "dark and stormy" on the night.
Our new Commodore, Dave Giddingsn RAN (Rtd), warmly welcomed our distinguished Guest of Honour, Captain Iain Hutchins Commanding Officer | Senior ADF Officer, HMAS Kuttabul. Captain Hutchins stressed the vital importance of us all being an active part of our shared tradition on the water. We were privileged to be joined by Commander Kathryn Jones, Commanding Officer HMAS Watson, and prominent community representatives, including delegates from the Woollahra Council (Cr Toni Zeltzer), the David Martin Youth Foundation (Ruth Markham), Legacy Marina Corporation (Adrian Gruzman and Doug Murchison) and the CYC Commodore David Jacobs .
We were delighted with a special presentation from the Pride Regatta Team (Jorgen Kristoffersen and Bredan Baxter) who presented RANSA with an official certificate from the NSW Legislative Assembly, recognizing the club's incredible community impact in holding the Pride Regatta.
The Cocktail Party was a truly fitting opening to set the tone for a fantastic season ahead. Thank you to everyone who joined us, raised a glass, and made it such a memorable night. And a big thankyou to Rear Commodore Eloise Clarke and her team, the House Commitee, who did so much to make the night a success.
See you all out on the water for the first Twilights.
