RANSA’s Techo session for September is preparing for your Equipment Audit.  The focus will be on the reason and rationale for annual Self Testing and checking of Inflatable Lifejackets including PFD’s 1,2&3 and differences and application for each.  Along with how to self-check your fire extinguishers.   Bring an inflatable Life Jacket and a Fire extinguisher to service.  Ideally bring a servicing Check Off Sheet for your PFD.  All reputable PFD suppliers should have them on their Website.  Dave Giddings has developed a Fire extinguisher and Inflatable Check Off Sheet for those who have PDF’s whose manufacturer does not publish.

This workshop is aimed at Boat Owners and crew achieving Category 7 Equipment Audit’s.  It is also relevant for cruising yachts and gives you knowledge and a source of info for using the Cat 5 Equipment Audit and higher if you are coastal or offshore cruising to make sure you have all relevant gear for handling any emergencies encountered.
